Healthcare Management Partners Releases Inaugural HMP Metrics Report™
NEW YORK—(Oct. 25, 2010)—Healthcare Management Partners (HMP), a leader in healthcare management, financial advisory and litigation support services, releases the first edition of HMP Metrics™, a set of proprietary financial modeling and data analysis tools developed from HMP’s own custom electronic database. Relying on data contained in the Healthcare Cost Report Information System’s compilation of more than 50,000 Medicare Cost Reports filed by hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies and other providers since 1994, HMP Metrics produces peer group-adjusted performance measurements for healthcare providers weighted against state or national benchmarks.
HMP is making the initial report available to healthcare organizations and to bankers, attorneys and consultants to the healthcare industry. A complimentary copy may be obtained here.
Using proprietary filters, the data in the HMP Metrics database has been “scrubbed” to exclude incorrect, partial-period or statistically aberrant data elements for individual hospitals or health systems, quickly creating fully customizable, confidential and highly accurate peer group comparison reports for dozens of standard industry metrics.
The HMP Metrics database can compare custom-selected peer groups such as individual hospitals within a single multi-hospital system, hospitals with a specific long-term debt rating, hospital members of specific hospital trade associations, hospitals with bonds outstanding issued by a specific bond authority, and hospitals categorized by ownership, size, geographic region or teaching status.
Additionally, and exclusively for hospitals, the HMP Metrics database also includes selected data elements from the Medicare Provider Analysis and Review (MEDPAR) database and data sets licensed by HMP from credit rating agencies and healthcare industry trade associations.
