Healthcare Management Partners to Add Josh Snow
to Hospital Turnaround and Consulting Team
Tweet BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—(May 26, 2010)— Healthcare Management Partners (HMP) is proud to announce that Josh Snow will join the firm full-time on June 1 to fulfill the residency portion of his graduate program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). As a full-time employee at HMP in Birmingham, Snow will be working with a team of proven industry leaders providing hands-on turnaround management, strategic, operational and financial expertise, and litigation support for healthcare organizations and its stakeholders.
Drawn to the healthcare industry due to the diverse nature of the work and constantly changing work environment, Snow pursued the academics to prepare him for a career working in the operational and strategic aspects of healthcare. After earning a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management from Appalachian State University, Snow was attracted to the UAB Masters of Science in Health Administration program because of its prestigious top 10 nationwide ranking and cohort program allowing him to work with numerous healthcare organizations in the area. Additionally, living and working in the “Medical Mecca” of Birmingham, would allow him to work on several projects that would be relevant to both his residency program and subsequent career.
For the past year, Snow has been concurrently pursuing his master’s degree at UAB fulltime while working with HMP part time. At HMP, Snow has been an integral part of the firm’s development of a program that will present Medicare cost report data in a user-friendly format as well as have some proprietary functionality.
“We are pleased to have Josh with our team full time, and he has already proven himself as a more than capable member of our team assisting on numerous engagements,” said Derek Pierce, managing director of the Birmingham office of Healthcare Management Partners. “He brings fresh ideas to our firm, as well as a desire to learn more about the firm and the industry as a whole.”

In addition to his experience at HMP, Snow has also worked at The Stanmore Consortium in Birmingham assisting in physician recruitment and creating a service area competitor analysis; Northern Hospital of Surry County in Mount Airy, N.C., assisting with certificate-of-need applications and external market analyses; and Capital Heart Associates in Raleigh, N.C., conducting audits pertaining to payers’ fee schedules and assisting with the Joint Commission nuclear cardiology accreditation.
